Raj and Priya Malhotra settle into a new building abroad and fall in easily with their neighbours, Vicky and Sonia, whose money and confidence make the friendship feel like luck.

Vicky proposes that the two couples swap partners for one night. Raj refuses, so Vicky arranges an evening of heavy drinking and quietly takes his place in the dark.

Days later Sonia is found dead with Raj's fingerprints on the weapon, and Raj is left arguing his innocence against an account of that night which Vicky has been shaping from the beginning.
