Rohit grows up in Mumbai marked as a gangster's son, a name that follows him through school and into college, where boxing earns him some standing of his own. A drug charge fixed by a rival's family puts him in prison, and what happens at home while he is inside settles what he becomes.

He comes out and builds a place in the underworld as Boxer Bhai. He marries Gauri, they have a daughter, and Digamber Patil, who trades in politicians, puts him up as a corporator.

The ward, the gang and the men around him start pulling in different directions, and Rohit cannot tell which of them is lying.
