Varun is a medical student from Texas who comes back to India for his brother's wedding, to a village in Telangana where nothing runs to his schedule. Bhanu lives there, runs the household since her mother died, and is not impressed by him.

They fall for each other anyway. What they cannot agree on is where a life together would happen - he assumes she will come to America, she will not leave her father - and they part badly over it.

Months later she flies over to help his pregnant sister, and a long drive across the country forces both of them to say what they actually want.
