Angar Chand has not spoken to Laxmi's family in years, and the quarrel has hardened into rules: no woman sets foot on his land, and none of his sons is to marry.

His youngest son Jai meets Anjali at college without knowing whose granddaughter she is. Laxmi sees the opening at once and asks Anjali to make him fall for her, and then to leave him with nothing.

Jai works out what is being arranged and plays along to turn it back on her. The trouble is that neither of them is pretending as carefully as they intended.
