Karthik is a software engineer with his life mapped out: the job, the savings, the move to America. What the plan needs at short notice is a girlfriend to show his family, so he hires one.

Meghana acts in short films and needs the money. She is as loud and unplanned as Karthik is careful, and playing his partner in front of his father turns out to be the easy part.

By the time the arrangement should end, Meghana is the one proposing, and Karthik has to decide whether the life he has been saving for is the one he actually wants.
