Shiva is an unemployed graduate who remembers everything he sees and needs his surroundings arranged in a particular order. A toy bear he has no reason to notice starts talking to him.

The voice belongs to Srividya, a student whose body is lying in a hospital bed in an induced coma. She can tell him what she remembers and nothing about where she is now, so Shiva goes looking, first for her boyfriend Rishi and then for her parents.

The trail leads out of the country, to a doctor named Varadarajan and to a business that needs its patients kept asleep.
