Krishna and Adinarayana grow up as close friends in the same village until Adi's sister elopes days before her wedding. Krishna is blamed for it, and the two families stop speaking for twenty-five years.

Adi's daughter Bhramaramba has been raised indoors and told by her grandmother that a prince will come for her. At a family wedding she meets Shiva, Krishna's son, who falls for her at once; neither knows what their fathers carry.

She moves to Vizag to study and the two become inseparable, though she keeps insisting she is still waiting. When Shiva finally says what he feels, she goes home angry.
