Tango Charlie2005

Tarun Chauhan joins the Border Security Force young and untested, and is put under Havaldar Mohammad Ali, a veteran his unit calls Tango Charlie.

His postings take him through India's internal wars: insurgents in the Northeast, Maoists in the central forests, riots in Gujarat and militants in Kashmir. Each tour costs him friends and certainties, and turns a nervous recruit into a hardened soldier.

The story is told through Tarun's diary, found by the two helicopter pilots sent to bring him out, and it asks what duty leaves of a man after years of fighting his own countrymen.
